How to register car in Prague. Step by step.

Jarov
One of the other steps I had to explore on my way for independence was registering of my car which I bought as a used from my former employer. The source in Czech on Internet was not simple and I spent out some hours by studying and by exploring the issue on offices. Not only Czech but also English how to is on official Prague city hall site http://magistrat.praha-mesto.cz/How-to-Manage, but some info is too vague even in Czech.
I tried to describe the process step by step but only in Czech at the moment. In English version of my article there are only some main points:
The main source is the official site of Prague City hall (http://magistrat.praha-mesto.cz/65050_Motor-vehicles-and-trailers-as-of-17-January-2005).
1. I did the procedure in Autosalon in Prague Jarov. You need the document from car, insurance and your ID. Than firstly you have to go with the car to the Station of the technology Checking (STK) where you ask for a document proving the car is really the right car and not some other stolen one with false papers etc. It costs 250 CZK. It takes about 30 minutes.

2. Than you have to only with the papers register on 50 meters nearby Prague office car register nearby in the Jarov area.
There you can fulfill the form and wait in the row of automatic queuing system. You can print your number on the beginning of the entire process even before your visit of STK with your car.
You can also enter to the waiting queue vie Internet (http://magistrat.praha-mesto.cz/How-to-Manage).The registration costs 800 CZK, if your car is not too old. Other way you have to pay some extra ecological fee because of some EU norms.
I waited in the queue in the office about 2,5 hours and before half hour in technology control. I went through with quite enormous effort with knowledge of Czech language as native speaker and university educated person, and I felt it as quite difficult. I am curios whether the procedure could be gone through by English speaking people. Well I agree this is not very helpful information article, but at least it is some first beta. Let me know if you would have experienced in some thing like this…
The last remark: In the office there is a small pool agency for plenty of car insurance company. The closing hours are half hour before the office close.
So have firm nerves and I wish you easy going …

Bezva clanek — diky za nej. Jen jeden detail — Na Jarove neni mozne uhradit tzv. ekologicky poplatek za auto splnujici starsi ekologicke normy, pouze v Jungmannove ulici.
