I remember when some years ago, in a language school in London we exchanged Easter tradition experiences. As the only Czech I was there definitely the most controversial among international students community in our class with explanation of Czech “pomlazka” custom. It is the tradition that on Easter Monday men beat women with a specific cane made from willow branches to women be fresh in the next year according to our tradition. And women are happy and they give back to the man Easter eggs, sweets, drinks etc. So that we beat women even perhaps symbolically, was for half of foreigners very curious and strange and the other were shocked and considered it as barbarian. A smart beautiful British woman teacher lost little bit of my platonic love when she tried to condemn this custom and argued against it from strong feminist positions.

Today morning on March 19th, 2009 I have woken up and see behind the window snow is falling. Our garden, trees, cars, streets has been covered by snow. I have remembered an old tramping song from my youth “We expected spring, but the frost came instead of…”

I was a bit skeptical to this exposition, under prejudice: it could not overcome the provincialism of our small suburb of Prague. In spite of that I suggested to my family, let us go to a walk to recently repaired castle Chvaly, Horni Pocernice, Prague 9. The reality was opposite. On the beginning the permanent exhibition of paintings and reconstructed atelier of the Czech painter of the last century Ludmila Jirincova. She was extraordinary interesting women who tried to live truly according her felling. I like the way.

One of the other steps I had to explore on my way for independence was registering of my car which I bought as a used from my former employer. The source in Czech on Internet was not simple and I spent out some hours by studying and by exploring the issue on offices. Not only Czech but also English how to is on official Prague city hall site http://magistrat.praha-mesto.cz/How-to-Manage, but some info is too vague even in Czech.
I tried to describe the process step by step but only in Czech at the moment. In English version of my article there are only some main points:

What to do on free weekend in Prague when your plan for skiing in close mountains had been broken by the bad weather. On the last weekend we try to explore a relatively new aquapark in Cestlice, near Pruhonice, on east suburb of the Prague. The impression was in the end positive, it looks as the biggest swimming areal around, with wide offer of various toboggans, man made rivers and other attractions which my daughter loves. I appreciated mostly quite warm water, at least definitely warmer than in all pools in Czech Republic I have remembered, and some kind of exotic nature style and relaxed non arrogant atmosphere. And more: there is just now some promotional action that children have free of charge entrance, which is said to be continuing till March 2009. But I have there noticed one strange and significant recent phenomenon, that children even quite small (younger then 10 years) move and run around there apparently without direct supervision of adults.

After 20 years to be employee I have started to live as freelancer. One of the first thing I did was I had to buy a new notebook. I did a small research and matured to a decision: I go to light or sub notebook, and from net discussion it looks at 10 inchs Asus Eee PC 1000. I got it. I must say that it is darling, and I feel in the end the technology development probably aim to direction to efficiency.
My previous company notebookes (mostly by Toshiba) during the last 10 years was every model more and more sophisticated but also more robust so in the end the work on them was not easy, not more effective. The last attempt with standard business Toshiba with Vistas seamed me definitely steped back, and my impression was that the main motivation is to sell to people more complicated and more expensive devise, not more more useful one.
